Offshore Windpower
Fire protection in a growing energy sector
Offshore wind power plays a key role in the transition to renewable energy, but it also has unique design and safety requirements. The installation environment is characterized by high winds, salt water, constant movement and limited access for maintenance. Fire protection systems must therefore be robust, durable and easy to use – while meeting the certification requirements of both the marine and electrical industries.
Fireseals solutions
Fireseal develops and delivers fire protection solutions specifically adapted for offshore wind farms, including cable seals, pipe seals and fire rated penetrations. Our systems are modular, easy to install and prepared for rapid upgrades during operation. They can withstand high humidity, corrosive environment and mechanical impact. We work with OEM suppliers and installation contractors to ensure compatibility with the structure and layout of turbine foundations, substations and accommodation units.
Certifications & tests
Our products are tested and approved according to current international standards for offshore installations, such as steel deck and walls, sandwich panels. Our solutions are ideal for securing HVDC converter stations, AC substations, transformer rooms, GIS units, medium and low voltage areas:
- IMO FTP Code Part 3 – Fire resistance A-60/A-0 for cables and pipe penetrations.
- DNV , MED-B certificate – Offshore structural fire rating.
- Tested for environmental resistance – To the effects of weather, UV and salt water.
- HVAC cable through steel deck and walls.
- Tested for resistance to water ingress, air tightness, movement and vibration.
